My Dearest Katherine Ann,
You are 8 months old! This post is late as a testament to our wonderfully busy month or my effort to try and slow down time. The past month was once again filled with family and friends while we traveled to Oklahoma and Iowa. In between those trips, we made lots of memories at home.
You love eating baby food: bananas, sweet potatoes, squash, pears, peaches, applesauce, and carrots. You love talking and filling our day with baby babble. My personal favorite is Mama :) You love to laugh...deep-belly, make-yousnort kinda laughs! You love playing and climbing on your daddy. You love putting things in your mouth...everything goes in your mouth. You love to play with your toys especially your singing drum. You love your crawling pose and have perfected planking. We think you will be crawling within the next month.
This month held many firsts. We took you on your first glamping trip...a.k.a. glamorous camping. You were a trooper and loved going hiking! I see many camping trips in our future. Hopefully you will be ready for the good ole' tent soon.
We also celebrated your first Thanksmas! It was a wonderful week celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas. We filled our days with family, food, gifts, and games. Most importantly, lots of cousin time. You and Adrianna are just getting acquainted, but I hope the smiles and giggles you shared are a glimpse of a special friendship in the making. Although, we do have to work on sharing...but there is time :) Both your grandma and grandpa Kreger are quite talented: one with sewing and one with the wood crafting. This means you got very meaningful gifts you can treasure and use for years to come. Your Uncle Kyle is very good at making you laugh and snuggles with Aunt Angie are a treat (and don't forget, she will always have gum). Family time around the holidays is always special, but this time it seemed even more.
This month also brought your first cold. It reared its ugly head while we were in Iowa. You were still a very happy baby during the day, but the nights were rough.
Thankfully grandma and grandpa were there to help take shifts, and I don't think they minded the extra snuggle time.
Finally, you got to go to your first wedding! I have always loved weddings, but they take on a totally different meaning now that we have you. You apparently also love weddings and stayed entertained for many hours.
Each month we see more and more of your personality. Whether is it the new silly faces you make with your tongue or the silly voice you use when you get really excited, we love learning more about you. You are truly a blessing.
