Our Last 5 Months Part Four: Trip to the Southwest

After Christmas, Michael and I headed out on a little vacation to warmer temperatures.  Our first destination was Zion National Park in Utah.  It was one of the most beautiful places we have ever seen.  We spent our days hiking and enjoying the outdoors.  One of my favorite parts was staying at Zion Mountain Ranch.  It was complete with log cabins, roaming buffalo, and a seemingly endless sky of stars!  It was truly an escape from the hustle and bustle of Dallas.

On New Year's Day, we headed to the Grand CanyonAlong the way we drove through the deserts of Arizona.  It was quite a long drive, but it was worth every mile to stand on the rim of the Grand Canyon to ring in the New Year and marvel in God's beautiful creation!!

We ended our trip with a couple of relaxing days in Sedona, AZ.  We were once again surrounded by beautiful scenery of red rocks and warm afternoons by the pool :)

We were truly thankful for our vacation!  It was precious time for us before our Baby Girl arrives in April :)

Our Last 5 Months Part Three: Christmas Joy and Sweet Adrianna

We were so thankful to spend Christmas in Iowa with the newest addition to our family...Adrianna Mae! Since Michael and I are both on school schedules, we got to spend an entire week at home giving us lots of time with our family and friends. This will truly be a Christmas we always remember since it was the first one with a little baby.  She brought so much joy to our Christmas and made it incredibly special.  I loved seeing my brother and sister-in-law as new parents. And my parents...they are loving every minute of being grandma and grandpa. It is truly beautiful!  I also loved seeing Michael with Adrianna.  She captured his heart very quickly :) We were truly thankful for the sweet time we had with our family. Thanks to mom and dad for making it a wonderful Christmas!!

Our Last 5 Months Part Two: Football and Teaching

This Fall brought many busy weekends and lots of football! Michael started his 2nd year as the Head JV Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach with the Covenant Knights.  I am so thankful God has given him this opportunity to coach and be involved in this wonderful Christian Community. It was another successful season with Varsity winning the Six-Man State Championship for the 2nd year in a row!!  Go Knights!  I love watching Michael coach and cheering on the teams from the stands.

I started my 5th year of teaching and I was so excited I got to stay in my same classroom as last year. This saved much time in getting ready for a new class of 1st Graders.  Since I spend so much time at school, I wanted to make sure my classroom felt warm and welcoming when my students arrived on the first day.  And, extra bonus, my mom was able to come and help me get my room ready thanks to her retirement!!  Although there are stressful days, I truly do love my job I am blessed with a wonderful teaching team, support staff, and sweet students. Welcome to Room 606!
