Friday Favorites: Thanksgiving Post

Friday Favorites this week is a recap to Thanksgiving with my parents! I am so thankful both of them are retired :) :)

One of my favorite things we did last week was visit the Frisco Play Street Museum. We didn't know if Katie would enjoy it, but she LOVED IT!! Played for a solid 2 hours. She would have played for more, but it was lunch and nap time. It was such a joy to see her play in this environment. Her favorite "shops" were the grocery store, restaurant, and house! Basically my 3 favorite play activities when I was a kid :)

Just playing school :)
"Here Mimi! I made this for you!"

Thanksgiving day was filled with rain, yummy food, family, football, and more rain :) There were a couple hours in the morning without rain, however, so we took advantage of the time to take some pictures outside. My dearest Katie wasn't into the organized picture taking...surprise...but her Papa was able to get her smiling and laughing. So incredibly grateful for my parents, and the way they love our family! Also, this first picture might be a new favorite!!

Priceless!

And now begins a series I call the many faces of my dad! We joke it is harder to get a picture of my dad just smiling and not being silly than it is to get a picture of the grandkids smiling :)

We also got to see lots of Christmas lights! The malls in Dallas go all out for Christmas decorating. The one closest to us has a huge 3-story tree! By accident we ended up at the mall during a tree lighting ceremony...way too many people...but we did get to see a skating Santa, Charlie White and Meryl Davis (2014 Olympic Champions), and see fireworks!

We also have beautiful lights close to our apartment! We had lots of rain while my parents were here, but we were finally able to walk to see the lights their last night. Katie loved seeing all the beautiful lights, and she just kept asking for more lights :)

With the rainy weather, we had plenty of time to stay inside and play. Katie kept us all entertained and laughing the whole week :) I love seeing her play with my parents! She loves them so very much. Each morning Mimi and Papa were the first words out of her mouth, and she wanted them to do everything with her!

My parents probably made hundreds of Play Doh grapes and pancakes while they were here :)

Lastly, my parents blessed Mike and I with 2 date nights while they were here. It is still uncertain whether or not Katie missed us at all while we were gone haha! We had such a wonderful time enjoying dinner together and long conversations :)

Thank you mom and dad for such a great week! We are forever grateful for you both!! Thankful we get to see you again in just 14 days!!

Have a wonderful weekend!
