Life Lately

My forever date!!
(I wrote this a month ago, but I am now just posting!)

Life lately has been incredibly sweet and incredibly exhausting! I think, however, we are finally moving out of the fog we have been in for the last 10-12 weeks by getting some much needed sleep at night!! Lately our days have been filled with trips to the library, play dates with friends, visits from Mimi and Papa, quiet days at home, and lots of baby snuggles. I love and cherish this sweet family of mine, and I wouldn't want to do life with anyone else!!

Let's ride :)

Fun in the rain!

She loves to help me cook and loves to eat along the way :)

Papa made Katie a water station (as she calls it) out of an old end table and storage tub...best toy ever!!!  She plays with it every single day :)

Soaking up some precious Katie-Mommy time while my parents were here :)

Enjoying some date nights with this handsome man while we had babysitters :)

Katherine Ann: 2nd Birthday

Our sweet Katherine turned 2 years old at the end of March...just 4 short weeks after Nolan was born. I kept going back and forth trying to decide if I was going to do a party or not. After remembering how exhausted and tired I was from having a newborn, I finally came to the conclusion that a party was just not the best 'yes' for our family. Mike went back to work the day we came home from the hospital, so a day for the 4 of us to spend quality time together seemed like the best birthday gift we could give her. And we had the best day :)

We started the day off with lots of singing and dancing followed by opening presents. It was so fun to see her get excited about her new toys. Then we made special birthday pancakes and headed out to one of her favorite places in Dallas: The Play Street Museum. She loves this place and played for a couple of hours!

After a long nap, we headed to her second favorite place in Dallas...the park. She spent the afternoon swinging and then got to "feed" the ducks. She loves the ducks as long as they don't come too close!

I love the relationship these two share!!

The last item on our agenda was dinner. Katherine said she wanted 'roni' (mac and cheese) and pizza. So we headed to Cici's. They just happen to have a mac and cheese pizza...score!!! She had the best time eating her 'roni' and pizza.

It was so life giving to spend the day celebrating this little girl who teaches us about love, joy, patience, and laughter every single day :) We love her beyond words!!
