Walker Happenings: Birthdays, Hospital Tours, and 35 weeks!!

We knew once February arrived, our life would get much busier in preparation for our Baby Girl...and I have loved every minute! February also brings the birthdays of two of my favorite people: my mom and sister-in-law.  Although we are far away, we are very thankful for FaceTime!

While my mom celebrated her birthday in Iowa, we had an all day Baby Preparation Class here in Dallas.  We experienced a wide range emotions throughout the 8 hour class from pure excitement at the thought of meeting our Baby Girl in less than 5 weeks to extreme fear after watching one too many birthing videos.  Needless to say, we learned very helpful information and are thankful we only live 2 blocks from our hospital.  Who knows, maybe we will even walk when the big day arrives :) And we love our doctor who just happened to be featured on our tour!  The weather was also beautiful last Saturday, so we went to one of our favorite local places for lunch.  They have delicious burgers and a rooftop deck with a great view of downtown Dallas.

As of tomorrow, we will be celebrating Baby Girl at 35 weeks!  I am thankful to be feeling well and looking forward to these last few weeks before we get to meet her.  One of my favorite parts about our pregnancy is getting the opportunity to pray for our Baby Girl each day.  At 30 weeks, we made a prayer chain filled with one prayer request each week for our little girl.  We know prayer and relying on God's grace and His word will be the greatest wisdom we can give to her as new parents.

I have also been using Beth Moore's devotional Whispers of Hope.  I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a devotional.  She sets it up in a 10 week format including scripture, application, and prayer.  The prayer has been one of my favorite parts as she uses the same prayer pattern each day in the journal: Praise, Repentance, Acknowledgment, Intercession, Supplication for Self, and Equipping.  And since the journal is part of the devotional, I love looking back and seeing the way God is responding.  He truly is an amazing God!

Finally, I love getting pictures of this precious little girl who just celebrated her 4 month birthday!

Happy 4 Months Adrianna Mae! We love you!

  1. I have the same Beth Moore devotional! I love her books and watch her faithfully when she appears each Wednesday with James and Betty Robison. I'm also very happy you two are getting to know your doctor and are preparing for the birth. I am sure that the last few weeks will fly by and I look so forward to meeting our precious little niece!
