Katherine Ann: 5 Months

Dearest Katherine Ann,

These past 5 months have truly been filled with pure joy as your daddy and I have watched your little personality grow and develop. You continue to bless us with your happiness and sweet giggles :)

We love the way you smile and rub your eyes when waking up from a nap. We love the new sounds you make with your mouth and your sweet little kisses. We love your adorable laughs and nervous jazz hands. We love the way you enjoy people and your go-with-the-flow attitude. Loving you is a gift

This month was special because we actually stayed in one place; no traveling or moving. You and I have gotten into a great routine and I treasure our days together! Whether we are running errands or going on walks, you are ready for anything. You are very good at making friends when we are out and about. They just seem to love your sweet smile! Target seems to be your favorite store so far...or maybe it is mine :)

Your daddy and I love making memories with you. This month has been filled with many sweet moments together from family date nights to dance parties. My favorite moment each day is when your daddy gets home and you give him the biggest smile. You love your daddy so very much and it makes my heart incredibly happy to see the two of you together. He can't wait to get you ready for your first Ohio State football game!

You had more visitors this month from Ohio and Oklahoma. Your cousins from Ohio loved meeting you and you became best buds very quickly. Our friends from Oklahoma also came to visit for a couple days and we took you to your first birthday party!

As we start a new month, we are looking forward to many more smiles, memories, and giggles with you. Thank you for filling our lives with joy and our hearts with love. We love loving you!

Isn't that Pinteresting?

I don't know about you, but I have Pinterest boards full of 'Pinteresting' things I want to cook or create.  Yet most of them just sit there looking cute.  So my goal is to get better at actually using the interesting things I pin and hopefully share some great finds.

I thought I should start with a Pinterest Yay!  Since we make our home in an apartment, we are limited with appliance choices and quality.  In our new apartment we have been happy with our appliances so far...except the garbage disposal.  It works ok, but has carried a smell since we arrived.  While waiting for our maintenance request to be filled, I decided to search Pinterest for any garbage disposal smell solutions.

The one I thought was the most interesting also looked the prettiest. It is composed of just three simple ingredients: limes, lemons, and vinegar.  Before making these cubes, I looked in the store to see if they had garbage disposal cleaners and at what price.  I found garbage disposal cleaning marbles, but they were more expensive then what it would take to make my own.  So my Pinteresting Project began.  Here is the link for the original website:

First, you cut up the limes and lemons (I used 4 lemons and 4 limes).  Then divide them out between the cupcake pan.

Once each cupcake holder is filled, pour vinegar almost to the top of each cup.  Then place the pan in the freezer for an hour or two.

When finished, you will have pretty looking disposal tablets. Make sure your family members don't think they are a snack!

The tablets pop out easily and store best in the freezer.  I put my tablets in ziplock baggies to help conceal the vinegar smell.  When you are ready to use, just run warm water and dump a little baking soda down the disposal.  Finally, drop in a tablet and let it work its magic.  I noticed a difference very quickly...and it smells fresh!

I loved this idea because it was as simple and easy as it claimed to be. It was also budget friendly and super fun to make.  Since I had vinegar and baking soda at home, the whole project was just the cost of the lemons and limes...about $1.60...and it made 12 tablets.

I hope these will work for you.  I will be making more once I run out!!
