Nolan David: 3 Months

Well, it has begun! I was hoping to stay on track with your monthly posts, but life happened, and I am behind. So here is my attempt at documenting your life from a few months back :) 

Nolan David,

Your 3rd month of life has been quite wonderful! We have gotten into a really good groove of eating, playing, and sleeping on repeat. Most of your fussiness with eating went away, and you are one happy baby. Your feedings are still hit or miss, but don't tell Babywise ;) Your sweet smile is one of my all-time favorite things! You also are starting to tolerate car rides. But most importantly...you slept through the night!!!! (Now if this was in real time, I would be coming back next month to report this only happened 2 times. But hey, you got to start somewhere!) 

The ladies love you!!

May was a big month for visitors. My best friends from college came to visit, and you got the special privilege of being the only boy invited to our girls' weekend! You were well loved! Mimi came and stayed with us for a whole week while daddy went to visit some friends. We had fun taking you for walks, playing outside, and making you smile! And then you got to meet your grandparents from Ohio. They were smitten with you and you with them :) I have said this so many times, but I love watching people love you.

Cheese!!

This month we had to start some physical therapy for your neck. One side of your neck is too tight causing your head to tilt to one side. Your sister had the same thing. The doctor/PT said it is probably due to the position you were inside of me. We learned some exercises, and you are making great progress! Your neck is getting stronger by the day.

Boom! Look at my neck strength :) 

Katherine is still your biggest fan. She loves helping me take care of you. She even helps you with your neck stretches by counting and singing songs to distract you :) While you are doing tummy time, she reads books to you and brings you toys. She loves getting to come with me and wake you up from a nap, although sometimes it startles you...sorry. She just loves you so much!!

-Being tired 
(You haven't learned you can just close your eyes and go to sleep by yourself. It's ok! You're new!!) 

Nolan, you truly are the sweetest little boy! My heart melts every time you smile. You still love to snuggle and being held is your preferred method of life. I will cherish this for as long as possible. When you fall asleep, you wrap your little fingers around my thumb, and your whole-body relaxes into a deep sleep. I am so thankful I get to be your mommy!!
